We started out our morning by reviewing more math concepts in relation to place value. Many of the students are understanding the pattern in multiplying by 10 up to a million. This new way of doing math can be a little tricky, but they are getting it! In Reading, we reviewed the story "Amelia's Road" by taking a pre-quiz on Socrative. I also continued reading aloud the novel Wonder. I shared and modeled how to use the QR code reader to get to the Today's Meet website, where students can continue their discussions of the novel online by posting appropriate comments about the book. We missed our Social Studies lesson today because we were called down to do our Easy CBM math testing. These results will be sent to eSpark so new apps can be loaded on your child's iPad. In Grammar, we reviewed the parts of a complete sentence, subject and predicate. Students worked in partners to create a Doceri presentation with two sentences labeled with the subject and predicate. Finally during our writing block, students worked on writing the body paragraph of a friendly letter. It was a very full day of learning!
