I hope you and your family have a truly, wonderful Thanksgiving holiday! Enjoy the time with your children! See you in December!
This morning our class had an AMAZING time thinking like artists at the DIA museum. The students were able to experience two aspects of art. First, students were able to observe and interpret art created by professionals. The second part of the experience was students creating their own works of art. This was by far their favorite part! Students used familar images and recreated them in artistic ways. Students were also able to created their own stories and videos on with the magnets and storyboard learns. The DIA presenters and I were very impressed with the students imaginative thinking, creativity, and excellent behavior. We even received such a nice compliment from our RCS bus driver! It was a fantastic experience for our 4th graders! Check out the pictures below!!!
Just a few updates. I apologize for not sending home the day Remind 101 text; however, I have been out the past two with bronchitis. After getting a much needed prescription, I am now beginning to feel better. Thursday is the field trip for 4th and 5th graders to Washington Elementary School to visit a mobile DIA exhibit. Please send in the permission slips, so your child will be able to attend. Additionally, this week is Scholastic Book. Parent Club will be sponsoring the Book Fair during evening conferences. Students may also shop during the school day. Finally, this week is the Food Drive. Please send in any non-perishable food items for those in need. Thank you so much for all your support! I look forward to talking with you at conferences.
After two days of hard work, the students created a salt map model of The United States to show the physical features and elevation. They did an EXCELLENT job! I was so impressed with their hard work! Check out the pictures below.
